God wants you to experience Him!

When I was a teenager, I used to volunteer for my home church in India in the media team. I was serving in that team a long time, long enough that some of the things that were being done within the team irritated me a lot. I was desperately seeking and praying "God I know you want me in this ministry, but I am not able to find peace so help me out."

That year my youth Pastor asked me, "Hey Doug! So, the prayer ministry needs two leaders this year and we have one and we're hoping you would be the other. It's only for a short term." What I thought in my teen-aging mind was "Oh no! I'm a tech guy. And what would my friends think of me!? It's going to be so uncool." and trust me, being cool was a priority for me those days! I immediately knew then that this is what the Lord was inviting me to be a part of. After a day of praying and struggling I said yes.

 That year turned out to be my most fruitful year in knowing the Lord. I felt peace even in my Media ministry. I have learnt so much of the Lord that I probably would never have if I stuck with my actual ministry.

God invites us to experience Him through different avenues. Oftentimes it's the most unlikely tasks in His kingdom is where you experience Him even more by being a part of it. My brothers and sisters, if you are being challenged by God to serve Him, consider it! It's a decision you will not regret.
