IMMANUEL — God is with us.

He is God Most High and God Most Nigh

He exists outside time and space. He is also Immanuel—God with us. He is both transcendent (the God most high) and immanent (the God most nigh).

The name IMMANUEL occurs but 3 times, twice in the OT (Isa 7:14; 8:8), and once in the NT (Mt 1:23). It is a Hebrew word signifying "God is with us."

Jesus was the final fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy, for He was “God with us” in the fullest sense.

Christmas always reminds of how God from heaven on high reaches down to earth below in order to save us from our sins. Let us celebrate the CHRIST of Christmas, the God who is with us, He is the reason for the season. While the world may look at this as just one of the holidays — we don’t!  We, however, reflectively celebrate this season in awe of God’s great love for us. Let us be reminded always of His great love for us and may we generously share His love to others as well. In all of life circumstances, in all the days and seasons of our life, ‘one thing remains’ - His love for us.

Higher than the mountains that I face
