April 14, 2024 - INSCRIPTIONS FROM THE HEART

I don't know about you, but dealing with our neighbors, or our fellow man isn't always great. But that's what makes the fruit of the Spirit such a beautiful thing. In Galatians 5, the Word of God tells us that we ought to live in the Spirit and to use the freedom we have to love our neighbor. How amazing is it then that God gives us what we need in the Holy Spirit to accomplish exactly that -- to live a life that allows us to love our neighbor.

Before Paul spoke of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, he said this: “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command:” “Love your neighbor as yourself. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:13-14, 16 ESV)

Not only does God call us, but in His calling He provides the resources needed to accomplish His will for us. The natural tendencies of man are seen in our sinful flesh while the will of God is accomplished only when we walk by the Spirit.

So church, let's walk together! Walk in the Spirit together, so that in our walking we are able to produce the fruit that only God’s Holy Spirit can produce in our lives that we may love and serve our neighbor for the glory of God alone!
