TELL ME THE CEAC (FFAC) STORY AGAIN

Learning our church’s early history keeps us focused on how exactly we may accomplish CEAC’s vision: “Living For Christ. Impacting Lives!”

During the early days of CEAC (FFAC), it’s fascinating how God used an unlikely bunch of young adults to bring people to Christ and His church. They hardly had money, but at least had the heart to serve. They only knew two things: get right with God and be willing to do whatever it takes to bring people to Himself.

They were young and very prone to foolish decisions. Yet God got a hold of these young adults. They realized their spiritual ruin, rejected their sinful lifestyle and lived exclusively for God — which meant being available to do anything in the name of serving Jesus and His church. Visitation became their forte. Driving to all the far corners of Edmonton and suburbs became the norm for them. They took people to church and drove them back to their residences.

This was the humble beginning of CEAC. By connecting personally with people in their homes, it was their way of showing they care. It took time to build a relationship bridge. It did not happen in one event. It did not happen in two or three meetings after. A no-strings-attached relationship developed over a period of time: months, years of staying connected and walking together. And we saw the power of God in changing peoples’ lives because there’s no heart too hard that cannot be softened by the love of Jesus and loving people in His name.

As our church celebrates our 33rd anniversary, may our church be a fine example of what a church should be — glorifying God, winning more people to Christ, nurturing them to live and serve as healthy and multiplying followers of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Lastly, It is fitting to give thanks to God for His faithfulness to us these past 33 years. Press on, CEAC! I claim Philippians 1:6 “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
