November 17, 2024 - INSCRIPTIONS FROM THE HEART

By Ptr. Immanuel Garcera

Have you ever found yourself in the valleys of life, seemingly trapped, with darkness approaching? Are you there now? Oftentimes, it takes extraordinary circumstances in our lives to bring us to our knees to pray, when it should be the norm for us believers. But why should we pray? When a woman in a parking lot can pray for an open spot and their prayer gets answered, but when a multitude of people pray for healing for a teenager with a terminal illness there is no healing? The writer of Psalm 62 boldly declares:

7 On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.

8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.”

Church, this is a reminder for us that: we pray, not so that our prayer may be answered, but because God is our refuge. In the great deep dark valleys of life, as the Psalmist repeats over and over, “God is our salvation”. Healing may not come in this life, but it will eventually come. Whether you’re in the valley or not, trust in Him at all times.

To God be the glory!
